Houston History Alliance
Historical Note
The Houston History Alliance was founded in 2005 as the Houston History Association by then-Mayor Bill White and Betty Trapp Chapman to provide a forum for educating Houstonians on the city's history. The organization's name changed to "Alliance" to reflect its "commitment to searving as a resource for Houston's existing historical, preservation, and educational organizations and institutions" and its work with community partners. HHA held annual Houston History Conferences and contributed entries to the Handbook of Houston History, a part of the Texas State Historical Association's Handbook of Texas. HHA ceased operations in 2021.
