Frell Albright Collection on San Jacinto
Organization
General Context
From Aldus, August 1969:
"Albright San Jacinto Collection
A gift of some eighty Texana documents, primarily relating to the Battle of San Jacinto, was announced appropriately enough on San Jacinto Day. Donated by its collector, Fr. Frell L. Albright, the University's newly acquired collection contains documents, an eyewitness account, contemporary newspaper accounts, signed letters by the principal participants, and pay vouchers on all but two of the 64 companies under the command of General Sam Houston. [In photograph] Examining a framed Republic of Texas land grant for service at San Jacinto are Mr. Albright, Col. W.B. Bates, Chairman of the Board of Regents, and Dr. Holley [director of UH Libraries]."
