Biographical Sketch

Ewell E. ("Pat") Murphy was born in 1928 and died in 2018. While a student at the University of Texas School of Law, Murphy was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship. He was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in the early 1950s. While at law firm Baker Botts, Murphy was assigned as liaison to the firm's Mexico City office and later was chair of the firm's International Department, partner, and senior partner. Murphy specialized in International Law and Energy. After retirement, Murphy taught Law at the University of Texas and the University of Houston.
