Preliminary Biographical Note

Rosalie Jane Ramsden passed away on October 15, 2018 in Houston, TX. She was born on December 8, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Sam and Mildred Ramsden.

She earned her BFA from the University of Houston and later earned a MFA from University of Saracus, New York. She started Ramsden Design, a commercial graphics design company in 1979.

She was a member of the American Corporate Identity, Art Directors Club of Houston, Printing Industries Association of Texas, International Association of Business Communications (IABC), Child Abuse Prevention Council, Houston Advertising Federation (HAF), River Oaks Business Women Exchange Club (ROBWEC), and Watercolor Art Society-Houston (WASH).

Rosalie stayed very active in various organizations and also received several awards. She received Volunteer of the Year and President’s Award from IABC, HAF Addy Awards, for Print Material, Appreciation Award from the Asian American Women’s Forum, Gold Grand PRIX XXIII for Print Material and an Award for Outstanding Concept and Execution from ADCH.
