The collection contains materials related to the book "A College Forum" edited by Joseph Doggett, Everett Gillis, and Rosa Bludworth, published by The Odyssey Press in 1963. In the Preface, the editors arrived at what they considered a special design for their work, seeing a twofold need: "the need of the student for readings that will stimulate his own expression; the need of the instructor for a text that is adaptable to either a subject matter or a type of approach."
