Fishing from Shepherd Dam at Buffalo Bayou, early 1900s
Over 800 still photographic images, in 16 boxes and 8 oversize boxes, document the history of Houston and her enterprise. The bulk of the series consists of photographic reproductions, although a few original prints are included. Broad subject categories of the "research photograph files" sub-series include notable people, places, buildings, streets, fires, bayous, parks, and various industrial development, such as oil, construction, and aviation. Other sub-series include "panoramas," "aerial views," and "photographs used in publications."
