Superfund, 1983

 File — Box: 72, Folder: 5
From the Series:

Although the Sarah and Army Emmott accession includes some of the earliest documents, most of this accession covers the 1980s. It offers important documentation of events such as the Waterfront Festival, providing evidence in Sarah Emmott's dedication to the preservation of Buffalo Bayou. The detailed documents retained by board members such as Terry Hershey and Sarah Emmott reveal the some of historical turbulence of CEC's organization life. Because of the nature of its services, CEC's goal was to keep a staffed office open during regular working hours, and that plan often worked admirably, but intermittently staff changes and office moves made CEC's functioning unreliable. Hence, invested board members maintained their own records to preserve the activities and history of CEC. It is likely because Terry Hershey and Sarah Emmott retained their own sets of CWC/CEC papers that the CEC archives now includes this valuable history. The Sarah and Army Emmott Accession includes 8 boxes with a total of 92 folders.
