This series contains 164 folders with material dating from 1986 to 2000. The series has been categorized into sub-series according to the type of event. The Sub-Series on Conferences, Lectures and Summits contains all the documents from the South Texas College of Law Seminar in 1986 with information on the legislative actions of the Texas 68th legislature. It also contains information on the Crimes Against Women Summit of 1990, and other conference type activities in which the Houston Area Women’s Center was a sponsor or participant. The Sub-Series on Fundraising Events relate to annual events such as the Astro Wives Gala, the 5 K Run, and Funny Women benefiting the Houston Area Women’s Center. The Sub-Series of Miscellaneous Events includes the folders on Anniversary Celebrations, Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Women’s History Month activities.
