PJN - Personal Cork Club, 1961-1965

 File — Box: 24, Folder: 8
From the Series:

This series consists mainly of brochures, invitations and Christmas cards, which do not relate to the University of Houston. They have been maintained with the collection to give the researcher a more complete perspective on Nicholson's life. The folder entitled "Hitler Wager" contains correspondence between Leopold L. Meyer, of Foley Brother's Dry Goods Company, and H.R. Cullen concerning a wager between the two men. Additional topics include organizations and clubs with which Nicholson was involved, including the Hibernians and Allegro. The Hibernians are an Irish Catholic organization dedicated to the protection of "American democracy, liberty of conscience and freedom of religion," and Allegro was an organization that sponsored a debutante ball each year. This series is arranged chronologically.
