The M.D. Anderson Library was built in 1950 as the first free-standing library at the University of Houston. The building has had three additions. The first was built in 1968 and is currently referred to as the Blue Wing. The second addition was built in 1977 and is referred to as the Brown Wing. The third addition was built in 2004 and is referred to as the Gold Wing. This series contains 12 boxes of materials related to the renovation of the M.D. Anderson Library. These materials include various designs, plans, transmittals, reports and fundraising activities, and date between 1951 and 2006 with a large amount of material related to the newest addition to the library known as the Gold Wing. Files in this series have been arranged alphabetically and then chronologically where necessary. The Library also holds original prints for the 1968 addition which are housed in the map cases located in the stacks.
