WWI Military Records, Personal Items, 1917-1919, 1979, 1979

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 18

JHL IV provided various brief descriptions of individual objects in the folder. He mentioned the photo of his father (JHL III) within an identity card booklet, stating that the image was from after the war. A canvas insignia of the unit that JHL III flew with was given to Special Collections. JHL IV highlighted some lines from his father’s description of a dog fight.

JHL III likely kept the articles on the Lewis Gun because it was the gun that he fired during training.

JHL IV described a letter written by JHL II to JHL III and read a portion of it. This piece is interesting because there is not a significant number of items in the collection from JHL II.
