We set up an interview at his office, where he was working as a practicing licensed professional counselor. Walter Camos is originally from Lafayette. He graduated from ULL with a degree in petroleum engineering. He began working in high school for an oilfield service company in 1973. In 1985 he made a transition out of working in the oil industry to spend more time with family. He owned a general contracting company for several years. At one point, he decided to return to school and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Lafayette. At the time of the interview he had been married to his wife for 38 years, and they had two daughters.
