Caption on white card: "Collins (shipfitter). Photograph made in mine repair shop, prisoner of war camp, Ohasi, Japan, ca. 1943."

Inscription on back: "Ohasi, Japan (Approx. 1943), This is Collins (ship fitter) - A very interesting character. I was a member of his group called "Joe-toe" Enterprises. We made gloves out of blankets for trade. Picture is taken in the mine repair shop yard. Collins spent his time welding ore cars. I worked a couple of levels up in the "Din-sha" shop. We slowly helped repair electric mine tractors. "Hank Goonso" H.P. Thew FC 1/C."
