This sub-series is divided into two time periods corresponding to Allred’s two judgeships. The first period, 1939 to 1942, is arranged chronologically by year and alphabetically within years by correspondent’s name. Exceptions can be found where materials are only arranged chronologically by year and month. The second period, 1949 to 1959, is arranged alphabetically by correspondent’s name or by subject. Exceptions are found where materials are arranged alphabetically by correspondent’s name and then chronologically within the folder. Principal correspondents include Eleanor Roosevelt, Elliot Roosevelt, James Roosevelt Tom Connally, William O. Douglas, John Nance Garner, and Morris Sheppard.
