Pecan Strike, San Antonio (72), 1938
This series, one of the largest in the collection, consists of fifty-four boxes of materials relating to Allred’s two terms as governor of the state of Texas, 1935 to 1937 and 1937 to 1939. The materials are extensive and varied and include correspondence, applications, legislation, newspaper clippings, press releases, speeches, and invitations. The subject areas within this series are also varied and include the Texas Centennial. This series is divided into ten sub-series: Correspondence, Applications, Legislation, State Agencies and Departments, Texas Centennial, Speeches, Invitations, Commendations, Press Releases, and Miscellaneous.
