Bentsen Townhouse, 1988

 Series

This series consists of contractor’s invoices, for the year 1988, and other records for the construction of the residence for Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bentsen in Houston at the corner of Salisbury and Westgate (originally 2224 Salisbury and later known as 2215 Westgate), which he usually called the “Townhouse.” Completed in 1989, this house won a design award from the Texas Society of Architects. Bentsen’s previous houses were older buildings that he remodeled for his family. The Salisbury house was the only one of his residences that he designed and built as new construction. Additional records for this project may be found in Correspondence and other series of this collection, but this group was received from the donor as a separate box of records.
