Martin Schulz managed then purchased the Texas Well Log Service during the early 1920s. He developed well logs from required Texas Railroad Commission filings and then sold the resulting compilation as a “log report.” His customers were major oil exploration companies as well as small independents.

The Texas Well Log Service Driller Log Collection contains an estimated 450,000 pages of well log driller reports in 129 boxes. The reports are organized alphabetically by and within Texas counties.
