Arranged chronologically by the firm’s project numbers, materials from the series are dated from 1982-1988. Shop drawings supplement the working drawings prepared by the architect for construction. They convey in graphic form the information a contractor needs to build or fabricate specific items or parts of a building. These items can include special metalwork as well as mechanical, plumbing, and structural details. The shop drawings are usually prepared by the contractor and submitted to the architect for approval. In KBA’s office records, shop drawings were stored folded and filed separately from the working drawings.
