Bautista, Edith, 2006
Summary: Edith Bautista [EB], age ss, is a Katrina evacuee from New Orleans. Her family is from Guatemala; however she and her sister were born and raised in New Orleans. She was a student at Loyola University when Katrina hit; she evacuated to Houston before the hurricane and waited for her family to arrive after they were moved from the Superdome to shelters. She gives us some details about her life before the hurricane, and how it has changed since. She describes returning to New Orleans and visiting the house of her aunt, who died in her house during the flooding while awaiting rescue. She said that she has learned to not attach herself to material things and is a strong believer that with Christ all things that you deserve will return to you once more.
