File — Reading Room Computer: 1, File: SKR-AM-SR07

Summary: Nancy Lipp [NL] was born in Corpus Christi, Texas, but at the age of five she moved to Baton Rouge where her father was a professor at Louisiana State University [LSU]. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Engineering at LSU, NL moved to New Orleans. She worked at Martin Marietta, (which later became Lockheed Martin) and lived in New Orleans East. NL met her husband at University of New Orleans [UNO]. They lived for a time in Austin, but eventually moved back to New Orleans and lived in Lakeview, near the UNO campus. In 1998 (?) they fostered Felicia (age eight) and Josh (age ten). A year or so later they were adopted. NL discusses her relationship to New Orleans. She shares a different version than her husband and daughter about returning to New Orleans after Katrina and the things that impacted her. There is an additional segment when NL and her daughter are recorded at once; sharing their memories.
