Summary: Trenell Hilton [TH], age 16, is a Katrina survivor from the Seventh Ward, New Orleans, Louisiana [N.O.]. Her interview begins with a brief description of her neighborhood.She talks about her first feelings when hearing about the storm and her family not preparing for it. From there she talks about when the water starts to rise and people going in and out of stores. Her uncle was able to get a boat and get the family to the Superdome. She talks about getting on the buses and how her family ended up being separated for a few weeks at different shelters in Texas. Finally, the family members find one another by phone and reunite in Houston.
