Summary
Anne Williams [AW], age 56, is a Hurricane evacuee from New Orleans Mid City. AW came from a household of eight siblings and grew up in the 6th ward. AW held down employment at Tulane Medical center and Mercy hospital during her time in New Orleans. AW did not evacuate from her home during Hurricane Katrina. AW and he family went to bed believing the storm had past over to awake to waist high water in her bedroom. AW and her family struggle to get out of their home to safety on a neighbors roof. AW and her granddaughter is separated and taken to Houston by bus after days of waiting on a bridge in hopes of finding her husband. AW now lives in Houston, TX and never plans on returning to New Orleans to live because the city still looks the same and there’s not enough being done to ensure the safety of New Orleans.
