Additional Description

Summary

Tammie Young [TY] is a Katrina survivor from Westwego, La. Her interview begins with information about living on the Westbank of New Orleans [NO]. She goes on to describe how her neighborhood was prior to the hurricane, to how it became after “Katrina”. Tammie gives a long description of her experience of when they began to feel the effects of the hurricane and how they managed to survive life after it was all over. She also describes how their community helped each other out after the storm and became “one big family”. Finally, she explains what life has been like for her, after being forced out of what she knew as home because of the aftermath of hurricane “Katrina” to a place she had never been before.
