Additional Description

Summary

Emelda McCullen [EM] is a Katrina survivor from Westwego, La. Her interview begins with some details from her early life and goes on to describe New Orleans [NO] as far as what it was like when she grew up compared to what it eventually had become. Also, she gives some detail as what it was like to be in her home she didn’t want to evacuate for six days without lights, since Katrina came through and made the power no longer exists. Then she explains how life is in Houston and tells why she wants and will return back to Louisiana to Jefferson Parish, Marrero, La., approximately 10 miles from NO. Finally, she explains how NO will be missed for so much and it will possibly take at least five years before we start seeing accomplishments towards re building New Orleans.
