Summary
Chante’ Simmons [CS] is a Katrina survivor from New Orleans, Louisiana [NO]. Her interview begins with some detail from her early life, and goes on to describe NO. Then, after a few minutes describing what NO was like before the hurricane she goes on to explain what it was like after and why NO will never be the same. Also, Chante’ briefly described some of the events that made NO, such as, Mardi Gras, Essence Festival, Jazz Fest, and the Bayou Classic. Last, she goes on to describe what her life was like when she first arrived to Houston and comparing it to what it is like now as she starts a new life in a place that was once strange to her.
