Summary
Donice Reiss [DR], age 51, is a Katrina Survivor from New Orleans, Louisiana [NOLA]. Her interview begins with some brief background details about where she was born and raised. After briefly providing background information DR begins her story with stating when she first heard the storm was coming and how she was in an absent state of mind. She briefly describes her journey to a small town in Georgia with a couple of friends from church. She elaborates on how the news footage and the word “refugee” made her feel. Then she finally describes how she ended up in Houston.
