Summary
Kim McClelland [KM], age 27, had been living in New Orleans [NO] 20 years before Hurricane Katrina caused her to move to Houston. KM was born in Biloxi, Mississippi and lived in Jasper, Texas before moving to NO. KM was married with one daughter, Ramerica, age 6. She worked three jobs in NO. KM worked at the Convention Center and the Fairmont Hotel and she braided hair. The best job KM ever had was catering director at the New Orleans Convention Center. KM speaks in great detail about working at the Convention Center and Fairmont Hotel and loving what she did. KM did not evacuate and was living in Gretna. KM talks about when Katrina struck in Gretna and harsh police and military brutality to New Orleans and Gretna residents after Katrina. KM talks about Aaron Broussard being a great informative voice after Katrina, leaving NO for Houston and life in Houston.
