In 1977 over twenty thousand women gathered in Houston, TX throughout a four-day conference to voice their concerns and tackle issues regarding race, social and economic inequality, sexism in the workplace, reproductive healthcare, etc. The conference was organized by the National Commission on the Observance of International Women's Year, whom was led by congresswoman Bella Azbug. There were fifty-eight state delegates appointed, one of them being April West-Baker from Washington state. This series contains a wide variety of materials that pertain to the organizing of the conference such as newsletters, press releases, and agendas. Additionally, there are materials that were given during the conference such as a pamphlet, an ID badge, and reports.
