Summary
Semitra Collins [SC], age 30, is a Katrina survivor from New Orleans, Louisiana. SC interview opens with a brief description of what it was like for her growing up in New Orleans, and her memories of her family life. Her interview then progresses with deep and vivid descriptions of her stay at the Superdome during Hurricane Katrina [HK]. She and her family were stranded in the Superdome for seven days, and SC’s interview closes with a comparison between her two homes: Houston and New Orleans. Towards the end of her interview, SC answers a few questions in regard to her “storm story.”
