Japan Projects, 1985-1997

 Sub-Series

In the 1980s the Japanese loved American popular culture of the 1950s. Michels made several trips to Japan as he tried to capitalize on his fame as a designer of the Cadillac Ranch. He proposed projects for Japanese clients such as the Cadillac Shrine, an automotive-themed restaurant and car museum. Also included in this box is correspondence, from the early 1990s with friends from China. Materials from this subseries are for the year 1985-1997 and organized by projects.
