This collection consists of 485 videotapes and a few film reels, as well as 5 linear feet of paper records, photographs, and digital media. Paper items include invitations, flyers, programs, and other promotional materials. Materials range in date from 1949-2012, with a bulk from the mid-to-late 1980s. These materials depict or relate to UH-organized events, such as commencements, graduations, and other celebrations. The collection was acquired from the University of Houston's Office of Special Events in two batches in 1997 and 2013.

Only the audiovisual materials in the collection are processed fully and described in this finding aid. Unprocessed digital archival materials can be accessed in the Special Collections Reading Room by advance request. These materials may require up to one week to access.
