Preliminary Biographical Note
Poet and author Irene Salce de Urbina was born in Linares, Nuevo León, México on July 3, 1908. She attended Teacher's College Miguel F. Martínez in Monterrey, Nuevo León. She was married to Rev. Manuel Urbina in 1930, and their work took them throughout Mexico and to Texas. She passed away on June 15, 2013.
