Biographical / Historical
Marshal and Victoria Lightman co-founded Looking At Art, a “non-profitable” project to foster dialogue about contemporary art in Texas. Established in the fall of 1989, Looking At Art was an independent organization that provided its audience guided tours through Houston's contemporary art scene with visits to artists’ studios, galleries, alternative spaces, museums, and collector’s homes. Looking At Art also conducted Out-of Town tours, visiting galleries, studios, private and corporate collections, art fairs and museums. Co-founder Marshal Lightman died in August of 2019.
