Brief Biographical Note

In 1987, (Jean) Arden Eversmeyer founded Lesbians Over the Age of Fifty (LOAF), a community organization for older lesbians to socialize and nurture a sense of community. In 1998, observing the need to document the life stories of her lesbian friends who were aging, Eversmeyer created the Old Lesbians Oral History Project (OLOHP), which is now a collection of more than 900 oral histories of lesbians from across the U.S. and beyond.
