Contemporary Handweavers of Houston, founded in 1949, as a chapter of the Contemporary Handweavers of Texas is an organization dedicated to the preservation and advancement of weaving, spinning, and related fiber arts through the exchange of ideas and knowledge. They hold monthly meetings and offer classes on a variety of topics in the fiber arts-weaving, spinning, dyeing, etc. They also host workshops led by local and international fiber artists.
