Historical Note
The School of Nursing at the UH-Victoria campus was approved for operation in 2007. The program transferred to the University of Houston in the fall of 2015 and was reclassified as the UH College of Nursing in 2016. The College of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs, with course offerings at UH main campus, Katy campus, and Sugar Land campus. The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) was added in 2021, which is the highest degree available in the field of nursing. In 2023, Andy and Barbara Gessner donated $20 million to the program, and the college was renamed the Andy and Barbara Gessner College of Nursing.
