Biographical / Historical

The collection contains recordings from the Sharing Stories from 1977: Putting the National Women’s Conference on the Map project. Many of the interviewees shared their personal stories about their roles during the 1977 National Women's Conference and what the conference has meant to them.

The Sharing Stories project strives to collect oral histories from the participants of the 1977 National Women’s Conference and their descendants. The interviews for the project are inter-generational oral histories conducted by students or interns completed individually or working in teams that are guided by educators. At times, oral histories may be conducted by practitioners, researchers, or community group members for the project.
