This collection consists of one box of obituaries and related documents regarding community members who were related to the University of Houston, either through faculty or philanthropy.
The collection contains the transcripts and cassettes of the Phi Kappa Phi oral history interviews. A small amount of written material and three computer diskettes are also included with the collection. All materials date from 1978 to 1985. The cassettes have been boxed separately for preservation reasons.

The Professor Joseph S. Werlin Papers contain extensive newspaper and magazine articles relating to international issues of interest to Dr. Werlin. Topics include, but are not limited to, politics, racism, nationalism, agriculture, birth control, and many others. Most of the materials date from the 1940s and 1950s, there is also a limited amount of personal material, including correspondence and photographs, in the collection.
