Scope and Contents

This collection documents Casas’s career and life from 1946 to 2017, with the bulk of the materials focused in the 1980s and 1990s. Materials include copies of publications, original manuscripts, original sketches, exhibit pamphlets and catalogs, exhibit reviews, correspondence, original artworks, and posters. The collection contains materials in both English and Spanish.

Scope and Contents

The Houston Blacklight & Poster Company Posters include original posters produced by the Houston-based company in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The collection continues to grow as additional posters become available.

Posters remain copyrighted, and copyright may be held by Houston Blacklight & Poster Company or individual artists.

Scope and Contents This collection documents Bert L. Long, Jr.’s life and his career as an artist, which he started in 1979. The original order of the collection as well as the original folder titles and folders were retained whenever possible. When the collection was received, a small percentage of the collection was in order due to the work Pete Gershon did with Bert Long through the CALL project while Ber Long was alive. This collection consists of prints acquired by University of Houston Libraries Special Collections over the course of the department's existence. As available, description of each print includes title, artist, date, donor or provenance, and whether they are part of a larger work. Prints with little to no contextual information include a brief description of the image.

The records in this collection relate to artists who were represented by Betty Moody at certain points ranging from 1975-2012. Scope and Contents The eleven series of Lynn Randolph Papers are housed in three boxes and contain documentation of her exemplary training and career in the visual fine arts including exhibits, shows, reviews, individual art projects, and collaborations. Scope and Contents This collection consists of 149 photographs, 99 Polaroids, and 50 black-and-white silver gelatin prints, created between 1975 and 1985. Some of the photos are formal portraits, others are candid shots, and a few are still lifes. The papers of the Women in Visual and Literary Arts (WIVLA) consist of meeting minutes, fliers about events, and newsletters. All material dates from 1994 to 2011. The collection arrived in the archives in excellent order, arranged neatly into newsletters and meeting minutes, which were filed and arranged chronologically. The collection has been broken into five series: Administration, Publications, Events, Multimedia, and Various Materials.
