Scope and Contents Personal papers, photographs, creative material and technology, sound recordings, and promotional material comprise the DJ Screw Collection. DJ Screw’s activities as a DJ and mixtape creator are the focus, and materials documenting these activities include lists for his screw tapes, sound recordings, production materials, including recording equipment, business documents, and photographs. Scope and Contents This collection includes materials pertaining to the life and rap career of John Edward Hawkins, or HAWK. Digital files comprise the bulk of the collection and mostly include digital photographs of HAWK and his associates at hip hop related events. The digital files also include personal family photographs of HAWK’s wedding and funeral, as well as scans of newspaper clippings pertaining to his death.
