Scope and Contents The Battin Collection contains correspondence, articles, lecture notes, scrapbooks, photographs, scripts, and films. The materials date from 1936 to 1976, and comprise eleven manuscript boxes, one newspaper box and six films, five in reel cases. Because so many articles are one paragraph or less, they were placed with others in Mylar sheet protectors for preservation. The Professor Joseph S. Werlin Papers contain newspaper and magazine articles relating to international issues of interest to Dr. Werlin. Topics include politics, racism, nationalism, agriculture, and birth control, among many others. Most of the materials date from the 1940s and 1950s. There is also a limited amount of personal material, including correspondence and photographs, in the collection.
