The Joe C. Aker Architecture Photographic Records consist of the photographic archives of Joe C. Aker, a noted professional photographer who specializes in the photography of architecture and interiors. The records include film negatives, transparencies, and prints.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of materials related to the creation and production of the book Houston Rap, by photographer Peter Beste and writer Lance Scott Walker. These materials include digital photos taken by Beste, audio recordings and transcripts of interviews conducted by Walker, photo prints from the editing process of the book, exhibit prints of photos from the book, photo contact sheets, and dummy copies of the book. The Valentin Gertsman Papers and Photographs dates from 1922 to 2018. The collection consists of photographic prints, slides, correspondence, sketches, exhibit posters, recorded television appearances, and manuscripts/mock-ups of Gertsman’s published and non-published books that document architectural development in Houston, Texas. Also included in this collection are over three hundred signed and numbered artist proofs (photographs).
