Summary
Linda Jeffers (LJ), age 57, is a Katrina survivor from the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Jeffers began the interview by describing her neighborhood and her work experience before Katrina hit. Due to work commitments, LJ was unable to leave New Orleans until September 1st so a large part of the interview focuses on her experience during and immediately following Katrina. Summary
Shari L. Smothers (SS), a native of New Orleans had recently been laid off from her job when Katrina hit New Orleans. Although SS was not satisfied with her financial situation she enjoyed living in her quiet neighborhood in New Orleans East because it was “home”.
