Additional Description

Summary

Linda Jeffers (LJ), age 57, is a Katrina survivor from the Gentilly neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Ms. Jeffers began the interview by describing her neighborhood and her work experience before Katrina hit. Due to work commitments, LJ was unable to leave New Orleans until September 1st so a large part of the interview focuses on her experience during and immediately following Katrina. LJ was able to eventually board a bus and evacuate to Houston, Texas and the last part of the interview describes her experience in the Astrodome and in Houston.
