Harrison, Bernice, 2006
Bernice Harrison (BH) is one of two sisters both Hurricane Katrina evacuees living in the Meadows Place Seniors’ Village. Bernice’s apartment is between the apartments of other New Orleans evacuees. One is occupied by her sister and brother-in-law.
Johnston, Sheila, 2006
Sheila A. Johnston is a native of New York City. Her working years were in the state of Texas but after contracting MS she moved to New Orleans. SJ is 55 years old and does the at-home or periodontal dialysis daily.
McBride, Mack, 2006
Mack Mc Bride (MM) is an Afro-American male of slight statue but the gate and physical mannerisms of a blue collar guy. In this senior’s community he is well liked and often associated with a Christian activist population. He is thought of by most to be a Katrina evacuee but actually Mr. and Mrs. Mc Bride fled Beaumont, Texas in the advance of Hurricane Rita.

Salvant, Sonya, 2006
Sonya Salvant [SS], age 67, is a native New Orleanian residing in the Stafford Meadows Place Seniors’ Complex, She is an energetic woman whom can walk down a hallway without conversing with any and all passers by. Her apartment is directly across from her father’s apartment. Sonya is known by name to practically every resident of the complex. Sonya assumes more than the average person’s responsibility to form an active community.
Scaglione, Dorothea, 2006
Dorothea Scaglione (DS0 is a native New Yorker transplanted to the New Orleans area. She is a Sicilian American with strong identification with the Lakeview and Metairie neighborhoods. Dorothea has a definite disappointment in the failure of society’s appointed protectors in regards to Katrina.
