Loose Album Pages and Photographs of WWII and Family, 1940-2017

 File — Multiple Containers

JHL IV described some of the individual photographs located in Box 1 Folder 29. The first page includes JHL IV pretending to shave as a kid, as well as their dog and his mother. JHL IV discusses how many of the images come from James Lienhard’s time in the military in the South Pacific, but also some pictures come from his time after the war with his family (such as the pictures of Oregon).

There is an image of General George Marshall from 1942.

JHL IV also discussed some of the individual photographs located in Box 2 Folder 1. The folder includes images of Donald Wandrei, a science fiction novelist and co-founder of the Arkham House publishing house.

This folder includes a highly detailed camera obscura image of some palm trees found in the South Pacific. James Lienhard created the image and wrote notes on how it was created on the back of the photo.

The folder also includes an image of British Royal Navy Officer and statesman Louis Mountbatten.

JHL IV stated that James Lienhard did his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
