Professor Emeritus Appointment, 2015
The University Service and CMAS series covers Mindiola’s career spanning leadership in the University of Houston's Center for Mexican American Studies, an influential academic organization. Founded as an interdisciplinary academic program focused on the Mexican American and broader Latina/o experience in the U.S., the organization helped to recruit numerous Mexican American professors and published numerous pioneering works that helped advanced knowledge of the Houston Hispanic population. Overseeing CMAS, Mindiola helped foster the value of service to the community, both academically and to the general public. The series includes correspondences, grant proposals, invitations and programs to special events, fundraising documents, and publications produced by the organization.
