Summary

Harry Berry [HB] is a Katrina evacuee from New Orleans, LA. HB introduces himself as married, with grown children. HB begins his story with his decision to evacuate hurricane Katrina, using the contra flow, to Houston. He describes the devastation he saw riding through New Orleans on his return, October 15. He describes the eeriness of no one being around. He describes the aftermath of Rita on his return to Houston. HB describes the devastation he witnessed on his second trip to New Orleans where he was able to go into Eastern New Orleans, as well as, the Lower Ninth Ward. He shares what he has come to know of tax client’s and close friends’ experiences with hurricane Katrina. HB talks about what he will miss about New Orleans. HB wraps up the interview with changes he would like to see in New Orleans.
