Additional Description

Sumary

Cherhon O’Neal [CO], age 28, is a Katrina survivor from New Orleans, LA residing in the East. CO and family evacuated the city prior to the storm after having made sure that her father, a recent stroke victim, was leaving as well. Their trip was surreal. The arrived in Houston and stayed at her aunt’s home with 15-16 additional people. It was very difficult staying with so many people all of whom were angry and grieving the loss of all they possessed and the City of New Orleans. CO is still making the transition but has a home and a job and is trying to make the best life she can for her and daughter, Kayla.
