Historical Information

TV Montrose was started by Steve Baker and his partner Russell Byrd as a weekly news and entertainment program. The weekly program was created to share the stories and interests of the LGBTQ community that lived in Montrose. Segments would cover a wide variety of topics such as arts, news, interviews, and public events. The show also used its platform to make social statements to dispel misinformation and negative stereotypes of the LGBTQ community. The first episode aired on March 8, 1998 and the last episode aired April 26, 1999 due to funding.
